Choosing Wisely
I Peter 1:2
1 Peter 1:2 (New King James Version)
elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: 
Grace to you and peace be multiplied.
I. Chosen by God the Father
A. We are not chosen as an after thought.
B. We are not chosen because of who we are or will become
C. We are not chosen by our present or future actions.
Election – “That some in time are given faith by God and others are not given faith proceeds from His eternal decree.”

Ephesians 3:3-6
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

We are chosen by the foreknowledge of God the Father.
Foreknowledge – prognosis – ” having regard for” or ” focusing ones attention on”

II Timothy 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

II. Set apart by the Spirit
“In sanctification of the Spirit,”

III. Only because of Christ
